Why have so-called "Free" Countries Locked Down?
Clue: Australia, Canada and others are nothing like us
One of the most misunderstood aspects of the China Virus pandemic has been the reactions of so-called “free” countries (“democracies”) in locking down their own citizens in the most tyrannical of manners.
While Australia seems to be the leader here, Germany with its vile segregation reminiscent of people wearing yellow stars and Austria with its ban on the un-vaxxed being able to participate in any sort of public life, are close behind.
What happened in these “free” countries?
While they are western-style in the sense that they have elected representatives and (most of them) constitutions, that obscures the fact that their traditions, foundations, and history are not the same as those of the United States.
As argued in A Patriot’s History of the United States
and in A Patriot’s History of the Modern World, vol. 1
and vol. 2
America’s founding was based on the settlers at Plymouth, not Jamestown. The two colonies were fundamentally different. Jamestown was mostly like any other colony, but Plymouth was a mostly Protestant colony—-the first in the world—-and was based from the outset on common law. Literally, before the Pilgrims left the Mayflower, they adopted a common law government, becoming the only nation in the world to have common law from its origins. (Common law is a system in which God puts the law into the hearts of the people and they elect/select people to government who will carry out that law. In contrast, Napoleon’s “civil law,” which was a derivation of “Divine Right of Kings,” presupposes that the law is put in the hands of the leader/king who dispenses it downward.) They key to the Protestant aspect of the Plymouth colony is that Pilgrims were congregational in church structure, which is, again, bottom up. Thus in two of the four “Pillars of American Exceptionalism,” the Plymouth colony already was different than ANY country in the world and exceptional in its origins.
(The other two pillars were private property with written titles and deeds—-present in England and some of the West, but not Africa or China; and a free market, in its infant stages to be sure, but not present anywhere else in the world).
So Australia was a colony (as was Jamestown) settled by Anglicans. If you recall, the basis for the Anglican church was not “protest.” It is NOT a “Protestant church.” The only thing Henry VIII, the father of the Anglican Church, was protesting was the Pope’s refusal to let him have a hottie. The Anglican Church is top down in its governance, as is the Catholic Church, as is the Greek Orthodox Church, as is Islam.
But wait, Schweikart, didn’t Australia, like England have “common law?” No. England got common law from the Germans and officially began enforcing it in 1688 when, in the “Glorious Revolution” Parliament (i.e., the “people”) put the crown on the heads of William & Mary.
However, England did not govern its colonies through common law but through a “civil law” type top-down foreign ministry. Do you think the Zulus, or the Indians, or the Australians, or the Canadians had any say in the overall Commonwealth System? As Medea would say, “Hell to the no!”
Austria, France, Germany, and virtually all of the other European countries that Napoleon once conquered adopted a French-type top-down civil law. They were “democracies,” but the presumption of power was with gubment (as Ronald Reagan would say) not with the people. Read closely the “Declaration of the Rights of Man and of the Citizen.” The state has all the power. You won’t find a Tenth Amendment anywhere in any of these countries.
So now we see the citizens are waking up. They are marching. They are protesting. They are singing. They are clapping.
The time for that is long past. It will take a lot more than passive non-violence to overturn these evil regimes, because the people there are going to have to overturn history itself.
