"Weather" and "Labor Shortages"
The cancellation of over 1,000 American Airlines flights—-just a couple of weeks after Southwest Airlines canceled a similar number of flights—-due to “weather” and “labor shortages” dances around the elephant in the room. There is only one reason for the cancellations, indeed for the “labor shortages.” A self-induced wound called the vax mandates is killing American business.
Most except for the very woke CEOs know this, which is why dozens of them a week ago petitioned the Demented Pervert to “delay” the mandates. But even these gutless wonders don’t have the cajones to call for the elimination of such “mandates,” keeping in mind that so far OSHA has not issued any official mandates. These are all being tun through fascistic intimidation and insinuation, that if these companies cross the Biteme administration, they will be hammered.
And we all know what happened when Barack Obama decided to sic Lois Lerner’s IRS on patriotic Americans. (A friend from Wisconsin told me that in his Tea Party group of several dozen, only two escaped audits under Lerner). This is what’s coming for the CEOs who call their “labor shortages” what they are: vax resistance en masse.
In a way, I do feel for the airline CEOs. They are stuck. The China Virus crushed their businesses, and slow-recovering blue states such as Kollyfornia and New York, tourist destinations, are not helping. So the airlines must tread lightly lest Biteme’s administrative attack dogs find all sorts of inventive ways to shut them down.
But on the other hand, no one can deny reality for long. These are not “labor shortages” but labor shortages caused by the airlines’ own mandates. The airlines, which even prior to the arrival of the China Virus, had already started to cut their own throats with a never ending series of fees, limited seating, and rude flight attendants.
My own story here involved a pre-9/11 flight on an America West flight in which we with my young son were seated in an exit aisle. We requested a move, which we were granted. But in our place the stewardess placed three teenage girls while in the other exit row were three elderly people who couldn’t lift their own bags, let alone an exit door. When I pointed that safety violation out to the stew, she got angry and defensive. She finally blurted out—-loud enough for everyone to hear—-”IF THE PLANE GOES DOWN I GO DOWN WITH IT.” Other stewardesses quickly and quietly ushered her to the rear and fixed the exit row mess. And this was before TSA and before the China Virus.
Today, flying is a nightmare, even for first class passengers. Gone are the days of decent meals. In are the days of the Maskiopaths. Now, cap that off with massive cancellations of flights brought on by vax resistance and the airlines will soon only be flying those who have no other choice.
But it’s not just airlines as we all know. It’s longshoremen, NYC police and firemen, trash collecting personnel. Some of you may be old enough to remember that one of the key issues that brought Margaret Thatcher into office in 1979 were the public strikes including those of trash collectors and morticians. It seems when garbage and bodies begin to stack up, people reach their “let them eat cake” moment.
It is now clear that between 30% and 40% of Americans will refuse a vax even if it means their jobs. Moral issues aside, there are those who just do not see these as safe or sufficiently tested—-let alone that the jabs now appear to have extremely limited success in actually fighting the China Virus and its variants. Perhaps 5% or 10% of the people can be cowed. But when the numbers exceed 30% as they did in the American Revolution, either laws will change or the leaders will be removed.
