The Sloth Crossing the Road
Or, why we're seeing massive, mind-boggling change but it appears slow.
(As always, many of the articles reference here appear in Today's News)
I’m sure a great deal of our impatience for change—-expecting change, complaining where there is no news of things moving our way—-is the inevitable result of modern technology. Whether the 24-hour news cycle, the instant access to breaking news by any person almost anywhere, and, let’s face it, the pain and morbidly obese injustice that the U.S. and the world have had to endure for more than two years, it all combines to make us think things aren’t happening fast enough sometimes.
Politically this manifested itself in demands that the fraud in the 2020 election te addressed right now, dammit! The calls for the replacement of duly appointed electors with new slates “representing the real election” was understandable. The demand that the U.S. Supreme Court step in and make a widespread mass ruling on fraud in multiple states, which was something it had never done in our entire history, was further evidence of this burning desire that the wrongs be righted immediately.
There is no question sometimes people pay high costs, even with their lives, for terrible policies. In the case of the China Virus vaxxes, many have died and far more have suffered debilitating conditions. Some of those fired may get their jobs back, but few will totally recover lost health.
But as a historian, I have to deal with the way things usually work, not how I’d like them to shake out. The fact is, most change—-while it can be identified, often at a single moment, more frequently as a development over a period of days, weeks or months—-is like the sloth crossing the road. It seems to take forever for the poor guy to get there.
Rome “fell” in 476 A.D. . . . but of course that’s nonsense. Rome had been “falling” for 200 years due to a host of problems that we don’t need to go into here. Germany lost the East Front at Stalingrad, but it took two more years of bloody fighting for that victory to actually be completed.
I believe in the last month, but especially the last few days, we have seen the globalist vision for world domination utterly crumble. First, they’ve totally lost the China Virus narrative. Just today, Norway announced it would end its China Virus restrictions; Quebec announced it was giving up on its proposed tax on the unvaxxed; Virginia’s top three universities gave up their mask and vax requirements due to an order from the state’s Attorney General; CNN’s medical expert reversed herself and says it’s time to lift restrictions; Canada’s National Post hints at lifting restrictions (though the paper won’t give credit to the truckers); the UK Daily Mail asks if all the lockdowns were for nothing; and Reuters—-REUTERS—-now says ivermecting, gee, might be ok as a treatment.
Politically we are seeing the same “slothy” but steady collapse of the leftoids. A new poll out of Colorado has warning signs for DemoKKKrats in that state. New Mexico Senator Lujan had a stroke and may well be out for the rest of the year, eliminating the DemoKKKrat Senate majority; Botoxic has capped the number of those in attendance at the Rutabaga’s State of the Garden, er, State of the Union because she dreads having half the chamber sit or even boo the Demented Pervert; and poll after poll daily shows Republicans with a massive six- to eight-point lead on the generic ballot, which translates into a landslide for them.
Yet the Patriot Day (January 6) committee still wreaks havoc on people’s lives; no one has gone to jail yet over the 2020 election fraud; John (Bull) Durham proceeds at a pace that would make my sloth look like the Flash; and Biteme’s policies continue to do real world damage. Almost like the destruction from the Wehrmacht as it withdrew from inevitable collapse in the East. The change is here. The change is real. The Globalists have lost—-and I believe that between the stolen election and the China Virus they shot their wad. They may have a small catastrophe still out there—-one last Yamato to sortie out in time to be sunk by torpedo planes—-but they are done. They are as over as the Ents.
Take heart that the change is upon us; that a great victory awaits. Do not be depressed that it isn’t coming fast enough. Just keep your eye on the sloth.
