There is a great moment in the film “Moonstruck” where Cher slaps a lethargic and whining Nicholas Cage across the face and yells “SNAP OUT OF IT.” It’s similar to a scene in the great movie “The Verdict,” where all the breaks have gone against Paul Newman’s “Frank Galvin” and his girlfriend “Laura,” (played by Charlotte Rampling)—-who is actually working for the other side, but who has come to root for Frank—-tells him much the same to grow up, that life isn’t fair.
