On Tuesday the Demented Pervert that is posing as the President of the United States apparently waved the white flag on the China Virus, saying that there was “no federal solution” to the flu.
Gee, really?
Of course, today the White House is in spin mode pointing out all the federal assistance to the states, but this is cleanup on aisle 1900 Pennsylvania Avenue. By handing the China Virus back to the states, Biteme now is copying Trump’s policy (which had only moderate success).
Let’s review: when the China Virus first hit, Trump opted for a “federalism” solution by handing the virus programs back to the states. It is not clear, but one suspects this came from Mike Pence. “Federalism” sounds good, right? Except what this really did was hand over control of the process to Dr. Fallacy, because no state (even the larger ones) had a Center for Disease Control or National Institute of Health-level medical expert in charge of state-level activities. Thus, Trump’s solution, which looked good on paper, actually handed control right back to Dr. Fallacy as each state’s experts relied on “guidance” from the CDC.
And the lying yard gnome was all too happy to take control. What he didn’t screw up, large blue states like New York, Kollyfornia, Illinois, and Michigan did. Throw in a couple of dunderheaded waffling red-state governors, such as Mike DeWeenie of OH and Doug Douchey of AZ, and you had Fallacy’s wet dream. All but a handful of states locked down, social distanced, masked up, and ginned up support for the vax.
Only a few, such as Florida under Rick DeSantis, Texas (belatedly), South Dakota, and a few others retained their medical independence and were healthier because of it.
However, the wheel has turned a year later, when the side effects of the vaxxes are known, when the clear uselessness of the vax is obvious, and when masks have become obnoxious symbols of self-martyrdom. Today, only New York, Kollyfornia, Illinois, and a few other vaxiopathic states continue their mandates.
These, of course, have come under massive assault from unions, religious freedom groups, and common-sense freedom lovers. The U.S. Supreme Court has asked Biteme for his responses to the mandate challenges by tomorrow, and the Court has set January 7 to start hearing the challenge cases.
Some of me thinks John Roberts, already knowing the mood of the court, has tipped off Biteme, much the way Justice John Catron alerted President James Buchanan about the decision in the Dred Scott case in 1857 before the decision was handed down. If this is an accurate view, it would certainly explain the Rutabaga’s about face on more federal mandates and more pressure.
Meanwhile, across the country—-from the Boston city employees to a Cook County suburb—-individuals, unions, groups, and even cities are just saying no to new anti-China Virus measures.
We’ve been there, got the t-shirt.
Most significantly, this paints a scarlet letter—-or, more accurately, two (“C V”)—-on Biteme’s thick head from here on out. This was his signature campaign issue, where he was going to best Trump.
Now, like all of his other horrifically failed programs, this just joins the others on the ash heap of historical ineptitude, stupidity, and hate.
