Don’t get me wrong. I hate debt, whether it’s personal or public. But when the best Treasury Secretary we’ve had since Alexander Hamilton—-and no, I was not around when he was in office—-Scott Bessent, says that the current level of debt is “unsustainable,” well, I listen. Unfortunately, I have heard this for over 50 years. For 50 years I’ve heard, “we can’t keep up this level of debt.”
Yet we do.
